Sunday Ballew is showing an artist that works with smell and being able to relate with the audience that enter the gallery space. Oscar Munoz.
“I can make a pretty image, but what do I want it to say? I became interested in smell and the linkage of memory.”
She mentioned, “Perfume: The Story of a Murder” by director Tom Tykwer
The extraction of a pure substance and it’s connection to memory. The exploration through the sense of smell into the world of the indescribable. Interested in the sense of being before semiotics is introduced, before language. The instance before there is self-consciousness, to try and describe using language is not possible because any possible description is based within language which becomes reality.
